The Piano Company began in Leesburg, Virginia, a family owned business for more than 25 years. Without expensive TV/radio spots or costly display ads in the Washington Post, The Piano Company was built up from its humble origins to become one of the largest single piano showrooms - if not the largest - on the East Coast, all from a strong referral base of happy customers, teachers, technicians, and musicians. Manufacturers eager to have their product carried in The Piano Company showroom know The Piano Company’s reputation of honesty, integrity, and service.
About 85% of The Piano Company business is from referrals. Uniquely positioned in the business of selling and servicing such fine pianos as Fazioli, Shigeru Kawai, Bechstein, Hoffmann, etc., The Piano Company attracts the finest, most dedicated people to become part of its staff.
Mr. Robert Purdon serves and Vice President and General Manager of the Leesburg Piano Company and the General Manager of The Piano Company at White Flint. He came from a background as a music educator for 25 years, during which time he founded an association of music teachers. Robert then took his musical skills to the piano retail business where he managed a high profile Steinway dealership for number of years and won many awards in the music industry before making The Piano Company a part of his life.
In 2009, Mr. Purdon opened The Piano Company in North Bethesda, Maryland--a unique company nestled in the beautiful White Flint Shopping Center.
This location serves the entire Washington D.C. area by offering free concerts, fine instruments from around the world, and good pricing on pianos of high quality such as highly-touted Shigeru Kawai, C. Bechstein, Petrof, and luxurious Fazioli pianos.
